This week we'll wrap up our discussion on the abolitionist movement in the lead up to the Civil War by jigsawing "A People's History of the Abolition Movement" by William Loren Katz and James Brewer Stewart. Towards the end of the week we'll delve into the economic relationships between different regions of the antebellum United States and end by reading and discussing an excerpt from Complicity: How the North Promoted, Prolonged, and Profited from Slavery.
