This week we'll examine some of the largest Civil Rights demonstrations of the 1960s: we'll finish up discussing the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, move on to the history of the 1964 NYC Boycott, and finish by discussing the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party challenge at the 1964 Democratic National Convention. A bottom-up history of these demonstrations allows us to get a better picture of the Civil Rights Movement and challenges much of the traditional narrative.
