This week we'll start to look at the reverberations of 1868 — how do the new state constitutions and the right to vote for Black men transform life in the South? We'll take part in improvisations that highlight some of the key ways Black people held and contested for power during Reconstruction. Towards the end of the week we'll create a piece of historical fiction that brings to life one of the improvisations.
