This week we'll be focusing on Lincoln. We'll start with a role play on the election of 1860 and end the week with two key readings. The first reading is a secondary source that argues Lincoln's election is what led to the Civil War. We'll compare and contrast that argument to the other ones we've read. Next we'll look at a series of quotes from Lincoln and use them to answer two key questions: Was Lincoln against slavery? and Was Lincoln a racist?
