This week we'll begin a new major unit built around the question: "Who Freed the Slaves?" We'll start the week by examining Lincoln's Inaugural speech and the commonly held view that Abraham Lincoln freed enslaved people. We'll then look at the ways in which enslaved people resisted enslavement in the United States and discuss how their resistance contributed to the end of slavery. You'll have three assignments this week (detailed in Google Classroom):
1) Lincoln's Inaugural Speech Questions
2) Resisting Slavery Mixer Questions
3) "My Stanza" (for our collective "Write that I" Poem)
