Our content this week will be tough — it is not easy to cover the brutal realities of slavery. If you need to check out at particular moments because the content is difficult or traumatic please let me know. This history is not easy, but it is crucial to understand our world today.
We'll be looking in depth this week at the Middle Passage. We'll break down the Middle Passage into five stages, look at what happened at each stage and the different ways that Africans resisted at every step. Too often the story of the Middle Passage is simply one of oppression and victimization, but as you'll see, it is also a story of resistance and resilience.
