This week we'll focus on the Red Power Movement of the 1960s and 70s. We'll start by watching a documentary on the American Indian Movement's dramatic occupation of Wounded Knee in 1973, and afterwards we'll jigsaw readings on several of the major protests spearheaded by American Indians in the 1960s and 70s.
