Week 14: November 29 - December 3

This week we'll be learning about the abolitionist movement through role play. For the first few days, in the role of anti-slavery activists, we'll go through a series of debates that the abolitionist movement went through to help us better understand what the movement confronted and how major events leading up to the Civil War shaped the movement. Towards the end of the week we'll host a "Meet the Abolitionists" Mixer where each student will take on the role of a different abolitionist and teach each other about the various people in the movement through a scavenger hunt type activity. All the work for this week will be in the weekly packets and we'll finish in class, but there is an additional optional homework reading on the Underground Railroad and Philadelphia posted on Google Classroom.
